For it’s 10th year running, the week of September 26th – October 2nd is National Inclusion week. This week is dedicated to celebrating differences and promoting inclusion within the workplace. The theme this year is ‘Time to Act: The power of Now’.
Ensuring we have a diverse workforce, and being inclusive in both learning and celebrating different cultures and backgrounds has been extremely important to us at Raconteur and is something we strive to do everyday. However, for this years' National Inclusion week, the Diversity & Inclusion champions organized our very own ‘Bring it in – Pot Luck lunch’.
We invited all of our colleagues to cook and bring in a dish that is popular in their culture or upbringing and then we all tried each other’s dishes in a taster-style buffet lunch.
It was a fantastic opportunity for all of us to learn about different cultures and try some new signature dishes from all around the world.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed, and getting the opportunity to try each others' delicacies while chatting about our backgrounds, sharing stories and learning more about where we all came from was something really special.
Not only did we leave the lunch with very full stomachs, we also left feeling as though we'd been given a snippet into everyone's culture and background.
