As Raconteur expands, we are looking for an experienced Audience Insights Manager to help us achieve our growth ambitions. This is a newly created role owning the development, delivery, and optimisation of the data management and audience insights strategy. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in a similar role, preferably in publishing.

Sitting in our in-house online and editorial team, the role will report into the Head of Online and Editorial but will work closely with the wider company including commercial teams.

You’ll be responsible for building systems, leveraging data and improving existing processes to give you and the people around you leverage to do the best work possible. As a senior member of the team, you’ll ensure user-focused data-thinking is embedded in everything we do. You’ll collaborate closely with the Editorial, Sales, Marketing and Customer Success teams to help deliver more value to our users and customers.

Whilst the primary focus of this role is working with the Editorial team to help shape the content we produce, supporting the development and delivery of revenue streams across advertising, demand generation, subscriptions and data & insights is also key to the success of this role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for all Raconteur data
  • Develop, implement and evolve the scope, quality, and use of Raconteur’s audience data from all sources (first and third party)
  • Develop and manage dashboards for all Raconteur’s products, and for a range of internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure all data and reporting needs are met
  • Work with editorial and commercial teams to inform on success of various types of content, reports, topics, themes etc
  • Shape journalists’ use of data to inform commissioning, scheduling and publishing strategy
  • Report to the executive team on digital product performance and offer actionable insights
  • Ensure trust in the data function through definitions, design and clear communication
  • Where applicable, enable stakeholders to self-serve through tooling, training and documentation

The ideal candidate:

  • Similar experience gained in an Audience Insights Manager role or similar position in the publishing industry
  • Extensive experience of full suite of Google data products: Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Data Studio, Ad Manager, Google Ads, BigQuery
  • CRM experience
  • CMS experience (preferably Wordpress)
  • Social media platform experience
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools
  • Extensive data protection and privacy knowledge (GDPR)
  • Substantial analytics experience from working in publishing
  • Experience working in collaboration with journalists to deliver actionable insights that shape commissioning behaviours, optimisation and strategy
  • Skilled in data visualisation techniques and design
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to concisely explain difficult concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Experience in creating compelling and insightful stories from data that influence stakeholders and are tailored to the audience
  • Highly numerate and data literate
  • Salesforce experience (nice to have)
