The role 

Are you an ambitious mid-weight copywriter seeking to play a key role across the full creative process? Do you have the ability to generate extraordinary ideas, at pace? Is your copy show-stoppingly good?

If you’re looking for a truly empowered creative role, instrumental in everything from concept to delivery. Involving branding, content, advertising and social. Working with leading B2B brands, such as Google, Autodesk, Deloitte, Visa... This is the role for you.

You will be working directly with the Creative Director to develop ingenious creative solutions to complex B2B marketing problems. You don’t need to be the finished article but you must bring energy, imagination, resourcefulness and a willingness to experiment. 

The agency 

alan. is a unique agency proposition in the B2B market focusing on tech and financial services. We are the sister agency to Raconteur - a high-end media publication for business decision makers - which brings access to a wealth of top journalistic and content creator talent, as well as a deep pool of research and insights resources and tools. alan. has thrived during the pandemic, and is at the beginning of an ambitious growth phase following significant investment. Critical to this growth will be the expansion of the agency’s creative team. Comprising design, editorial, strategy and development, we are the heartbeat of the agency - responsible for shaping, creating and delivering our client projects. 

Responsibilities (in detail): 


  • Shape client brand strategy and visual identity
  • Lead development of verbal identity
  • Own articulation of brand character (vision, mission, manifesto etc.)


  • Write copy for: 
    • Paid social 
    • Display advertising
    • Email marketing 
  • Co-develop campaign assets with design


  • Co-develop content ideas with strategy, design and editorial
  • Craft storyboards and write scripts for video content
  • Write SEO copy for web pages and digital content executions (e.g. interactive tools)
  • Develop and write editorial content for client projects, alongside our 400+ network of industry specialist freelance journalists


  • Define, develop and deliver creative concepts with Creative Director


  • Shape creative direction in response to briefs
  • Produce proposal decks
  • Support on delivery of pitches for new and existing business

 Key skills:

  • Exceptional copywriting and verbal storytelling ability
  • Conceptual thinking
  • Inquisitive and creative mind, ability to generate original ideas
  • Tenacity and enterprise to problem solve 
  • Understanding and appreciation of content marketing
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Digital marketing experience

 Nice to haves:

  • B2B marketing experience 
  • Background in editorial content creation
  • SEO experience
