The role

The Account Manager (AM) is a vital part of the client services team, at the heart of making things happen and providing a crucial connection between the agency and the client. Your key

responsibility will be to provide support across a diverse range of clients and projects as well as working closely with the Account Director to drive account growth.

The AM is required to ensure all work that comes out of the agency is of the highest standard and helps our clients meet and exceed their marketing and business objectives.

They will bring a problem-solving attitude and rigour to every project and challenge all in order to meet the agency’s standards and exceed the client's expectations.

The Account Manager forms part of a new Client Services division within alan. So upon joining will be a key member for driving the implementation and integration of this new function within the business, as led by the Director of Client Services.

Roles and responsibilities 

Client Management:

  • Exceptional client management, with focus on developing client relationships with the client team built upon trust and mutual understanding
  • Ability to interpret a client brief and to manage internal teams to deliver the best possible results for your client
  • Day to day responsibility and representation of the client business within the agency with accountability for successful implementation of campaigns, on time, on brief and to budget
  • Regularly seeking out ways to add value to the client/agency relationship

Strategy/Creative

  • Develop and drive insightful and inspiring agency briefs
  • Be responsible for the quality and control of all the agency outputs
  • Help drive a sense of pride in the client for work that we do

Entrepreneurial

  • Challenge yourself and the team every day to be better and look to go above and beyond at every opportunity
  • Support New Business pitches when required
  • Support Account Director in producing relevant and compelling case studies for new business pitches

 People

  •  Responsible for the smooth running of the projects in terms of project management as well as creatively and financially
  • Represent all the core values of alan. Agency Be responsible for ensuring the team have the right time and resources to deliver within the client’s time frame
  • Build relationships with other departments (or network where appropriate) to provide quality agency product

Financial:

  • Complete weekly timesheets and ensure all your team’s timesheets are up to date
  • Ensure client’s sign off on all estimates and appropriate filing of all estimates for
  • tracking and compliance
  • Be responsible for all projects and campaigns profitably – ensure ongoing
  • monitoring of all costs and any applicable overages are covered by client
  • Contributes to the good financial management of the business improving
  • profitability wherever possible. 


PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Enthusiasm and dedication to supporting agency peers
  • The ability to multitask, manage projects effectively and manage the expectations of
  • others both internal and external is paramount
  • Assertive, outgoing and confident
  • You will need to be flexible and determined to champion the values of the agency. A
  • passion for creativity is mandatory!
  • Demonstrate good self-motivation, strong sense of initiative and ability to work
  • under pressure.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Some experience as an Account Executive or Junior Account Manager
  • Excellent organisational skills are paramount
  • Proven track record to lead and deliver against client expectations (if not beyond)
  • Ability to listen and learn from others in every department you interact with
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ideally some B2B agency experience preferred but not essential
  • Degree or equivalent marketing qualification
  • Understanding of general marketing practices (an industry board qualification – most desirable)
